You may not realize it, but George Bush is using Bill Clinton's favorite tactic to defeat the real Islamic threat - the Islamisization of the U.S. by "peaceful" Muslims through political action. What was Clinton's favorite tactic? The focus group! Remember how Clinton Administration policies could change overnight - even disregarding major Democrat Party positions - if the Clinton finger detected a shift in the wind of public opinion? Polls show that thanks to folks like you sharing the truth American public opinion has shifted by over 9 points. The number of Americans who know the truth - who believe that mainstream Islam teaches hate - has increased to 33%, up from 23% just last January. America faces two threats from Islam. The most urgent is an attack by terrorists based overseas or a Muslim regime that possesses weapons of mass destruction. Bush has moved quickly against these threats using all the elements of national power - diplomacy, the military, even PR campaigns. But the threat that poses the greatest danger to America's freedom and way of life comes from "peaceful" Muslims who desire to turn America into a Muslim nation through the political process. These folks are working quietly everyday, making converts to Islam, building mosques, registering voters, and storing up wealth. President Bush knows the truth about Islam - for certain - but because America needs the cooperation of not only Muslim states but also the spiritually blind nations of Europe and the rest of the world to tackle the most urgent threat, Bush knows that America cannot afford to have its efforts overseas seen as a religious war. Jesus told us how the world would respond as soon as it knew we were working for Him! Praise God George Bush knows how to be wise like a serpent and appear harmless as a dove in the midst of these wolves! (Mt. 10:16) And President Bush faces two gigantic hurdles in trying to deal with the greatest threat here at home. The first is the First Amendment. Most Americans think that the First Amendment gives a person the right to believe anything as long as he claims it is his "religion." This is not the view the Supreme Court has ever endorsed. The Court has reached the issue twice, once in a case involving Mormon polygamy in the 1840s and once in a case involving Indians using peyote in 1991. Both times, the Court has held the First Amendment does not shield a citizen who breaks laws of general application - like don't kill or steal - because his religion requires him to. Also, because Islam teaches that Muslims should deprive Americans of rights guaranteed by the Constitution and federal law - like the rights to life and property - Section 241 of Title 18, the statute that was instrumental in bringing down the KKK, labels Islam a criminal conspiracy. Thus, the First Amendment will not shield Islam once the Koran is put on trial. But that trial cannot take place until the second hurdle is cleared - American public opinion must swing decisively - the vast majority of Americans must understand that Koran teaches that non-Muslims are not equal to Muslims and may be killed, enslaved, or made to pay tribute under Islamic law. And Americans must realize - in decisive numbers - that these ideas are antithetical to the Biblical principles that create our liberty and prosperity. The hitch here is that the day the Koran is put on trial cannot come unless you learn the truth and teach others. That's what Bush is waiting for. To attack Islam here at home before the majority of public opinion is behind him is a ticket straight to impeachment. It is a sure bet that Democrats - like Bill Clinton who fought FOR Osama bin Laden in Kosovo - won't fight the Muslims here at home. The best way to start is with the Gospel, because the truth that liberty comes from the moral rules of the Judeo-Christian Bible is spiritually discerned. And you might start with that Muslim you know - it is a sure bet he would not have heard the Gospel in his native land. Maybe that's why God brought him - and millions of other Muslims - to America.
