Replacing Our Children with Illegal
Immigrants
Why can't
we stop the flood of illegal immigrants streaming across our
borders? Why, when we know we face a threat from Muslims who
want to sneak into America to kill us, doesn't President
Bush see our own borders as a front in the War on
Terror?
There
are many practical answers, but the most important reason is
one you won't hear on TV.
We
have adopted an attitude towards children that is a lie.
Nowadays, children are considered an economic liability. The
left has spread the lie that children are an inconvenience,
that it takes the resources of a village - not just a mom
and dad - to raise them.
But
this is what God says:

Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and
the fruit of the womb is his reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the
children of one's youth.
Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of
them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall
speak with the enemies in the gate. Ps.123:3-5

God
says that children are an economic asset. They are a
heritage - meaning something that is inherited, something
that passes from heir to heir - of those who follow the
Lord.
But
we have forsaken the Lord to embrace legalized fornication,
adultery that is winked at, and public funding for condom
distribution and abortion. Statistics say that only 40% of
American children are being raised in homes where both a
mother and a father are present.
We
have accepted the lies of the left and put ourself in a
position where we cannot raise children.
Here
is how our failure to follow God creates the reasons you
will hear on TV for illegal immigration.
First:
By failing to recognize that children are an economic asset
we have replaced the duty of children to support their
parents with legalized theft by government in the form of
welfare and social security. Just consider the numbers. God
says blessed is the man whose quiver is full of children.
The word quiver comes from the word that means five. If two
parents had five children and each child married and had
five children themselves there would be almost 9 workers to
support each retired person.
As
it is, we are down to less than 3 workers to support each
retired person. More importantly, because we give free
welfare benefits to everybody we now attract immigrants who
come not seeking opportunity but simply seeking a
handout.
Second:
Because the lies of the left have stopped us from having
children labor is scarce, so business interests oppose
cutting off the flow of illegal immigrants who do want to
work.
Third:
Nations are defined by the moral ideas of their citizens. As
illegals flood into our nation they strengthen the political
power of the Left - the very people who want to see
America's godly founding principles destroyed. The result is
that over 25% of felons in the jails of Southwestern states
are illegal immigrants.
Mexican
missionaries say that illegal immigration hurts Mexicans,
because it stengthens the idea already held by the majority
of Mexicans that you can get ahead by lying. Mexico, like
most 3rd world nations, is a country where offices of public
trust are used for private gain, where lawsuits are decided
by who gives the judge the most money.
To
really help Mexicans, this culture of deceit needs to be
replaced by faith in Christ and the moral courage to tell
the truth. Free markets, which are the engine of prosperity,
cannot function where laws against theft and lying are not
enforced. But when Mexicans come to America illegally they
must live a lie, and this only deepens the Mexican culture
of deceit and makes it less likely that Mexico will ever
become propserous.
If
we really want to stop illegal immigration, we must bring
our fellow citizens to faith in Christ so that we will
follow God's truth, not the lies of the left. Freedom and
prosperity come from following God's moral rules, but
citizens who don't have a relationship with God through
Jesus and the Bible will never want to follow God's moral
rules.
And
godless citizens will never have the political will to stop
illegal immigration.
